"Boy with a CD" was inspired by the younger sibling of a playmate of my son. He had an appearance about him which developed this imagery. The boy looks straight out at you with a powerfully intense stare. The design of his posture, clothing, the chair, and the CD in hand, all attempt to break the played up and perceived state of symmetry.
