An older idea that was renewed. A lesson I was taught long ago in art school was to trust in the fact that there are many more possibilities than one. The changes that were eventually made greatly improved this painting. The work, I believe, has many contrasts in subject, colours, and values of light, which I hope give the focus of the girl’s face it’s luminous attention.
