John Hansen Artist Artwork - Young Girl with a Bird

This was an older artwork that I felt needed to be reworked. A lesson I was taught long ago in art school was to trust in the fact that there are many more compositional possibilities than just one. The changes that were eventually made I felt greatly improved this painting. The work, I believe, has many contrasts in subject, colours, and values of light, which I felt gives focus to the girl's luminous face.
