John Hansen ArtistBiography - Curriculum Vitae
A brief biographical history as a Canadian realist painter with a listing of exhibitions and other information of note

I have worked over 40 years as a professional visual artist. Born in 1957 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I studied Painting and Drawing at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto, graduating in 1980. My final year was spent studying in Florence, Italy, along with travelling to the many great museums of Europe. I began my professional career exhibiting at Gallery Moos in 1991 and later joined Nancy Poole's Studio Gallery in 1993. Loch Gallery acquired Nancy Poole's in 2003.
As a mature visual artist I have gained respect from collectors, galleries, and my peers as one of Canada's distinguished realist painters.
I have two grown children and I live in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada, with my wife, an artist and designer, Jocelyn Ball-Hansen.
I am represented exclusively by Loch Gallery in Toronto, Winnipeg, and Calgary.
